A fun and rewarding sport for any dog! Yes! Any dog can do it!
And you can too! After successfully completing a Basic Obedience
you are welcome to join us for an Agility Class. This class has many benefits. Whether you are interested in competing
or just want something fun to do with your dog while building that special bond.
This class will help your
dog build essential confidence skills as well. Dogs must be at least 12 months of age to participate in our Agility class.
Dogs under 12 months of age are required to take Puppy Agility.
Your dog will learn to go over jumps, through tunnels, and gain coordination on the contact obstacles such as;
the dogwalk, A-frame and Tetter-Totter. Great Fun for the whole family!!
Requirements for
all agility classes:
**** Basic Obedience****
* minimum of 12 month old dog
* junior handlers
(under age 18) must have a parent present
* 6' lead
is highly recommended
*Dog must be under control at ALL times
* Only non-aggressive dogs may participate
* For you and your dogs safety -Dogs will NOT
be allowed to wear head halters or harnesses of any kind while participating in Agility. A flat buckle collar is recommended.
Class will run for
one hour.
Pre-registration is required for all classes. You will attend class one night a week and all classes run consecutive
on the week night they start.
Dates and times listed are the first night each class starts.

Intro to Agility
Level
1
6 week course
Introduction to the Obstacles & Contacts
(you may be required to be repeat this class until adequate skill levels have been
achieved – instructor approval to move up to level 2)
8:30pm
- 9:30pm
* Introduction and basic execution
of all AKC/NADAC obstacles
* Basic control and understanding of agility
* Introductory ground work (touch/turn,
etc.)
Intermediate Agility
Level
2
6 week course
(dogs must have completed Level 1 or have instructor approval)
7:30pm
- 8:30pm
* Building off of beginners;
building confidence on equipment and starting
basic sequencing
* Basic Handling: lead changes, crosses, lead outs,
distance, pushing and pulling
* Advanced understanding of AKC/NADAC/ASCA rules, intro to fun matching,
learning how
to understand courses and execute them appropriately.
* This class may be repeated several times, this class is preparing
people
to show in the Novice/Starters levels.
Advanced Class
Level 3
6 week course
(dogs must have completed Level 1 & 2 and must be able to work off leash and have good strong agility skills
–or have instructor approval)
6:30pm - 7:30pm
* requires
instructor permission if you did not take Intermediate Agility
* Dogs must be able to fully execute
all obstacles
(weaves
included), and must have solid contacts.
*We will work on distance, advanced handling techniques, tight drills,
all crosses, etc.
* This
class prepare students for Open/Excellent/Elite level classes
*This class may be repeated indefinitely.
