Mikki Ottomoeller is a nurse by trade and a dog lover by heart. She is known
as the unofficial Elk River K9 dog greeter and is currently in apprenticeship with Maureen Ivers.
Mikki
has had a variety of dogs including Benji, no not that Benji. Mikki’s Benji was a Standard Poodle that always had a
shaggy doo. Also in her life were the German Shepherd mix Cody, the Schnoodles, Tessa and Brandy, Shetland Sheepdog, Laddie
and the red and white Border Collie also called Tessa.
Currently
Mikki has the twins, black and white Border Collies, Jax and Marley. The boys are about two-years old and are striving to
accomplish their Canine Good Citizen recognition. The boys were recently joined by nine-year old Maddy, a Pomeranian.
Mikki
is learning all the time through training classes, apprenticing, reading and lots of observing. She knows that not all dogs
need titles to be excellent companions and that training and good manners allow dogs the freedom to have enjoyable, fun lives.
