Prerequisite:
Basic Obedience
Rally, a new and exciting sport. Rally provides a link from the Canine Good Citizen (CGC) program to
obedience or agility.
Rally promotes fun and enjoyment for all dogs and their handlers. This is
a course where you are permitted to talk to your dog as well as praise, clap your hands, pat your legs, or use any
verbal means of encouragement to help your dog through the course. The handler may not touch their dog, make
physical corrections, or use loud harsh tones of voice during the course.
A Rally course consists
of 10 - 20 stations. Each of these stations has a sign providing instructions as to what is to be performed. The dog
and handler will perform each sign and then move on to the next station until the course is finished.
Perfect
heel position is not required. The object of the course is to perform each exercise as quickly as possible and make
the least mistakes possible.
